Gingee is one of the fascinadoras destinations in the map of the tourist of Pondicherry.

Syed Khan, who had migrated from Mumbai to Pondicherry, bought Vazhuthavur and ruled with fortifications. His son Mohammad Khan. Soropsingh was a close friend of Syed Khan. Rajadesingh's father.

After the disappearance of Mohammad Khan in the battle with Raja Desing, the Vazhuthavur fort fell into the hands of the Nawab of Arcot. Nawab Mir Asad, who left Arcot Suba in 1742 due to the chaotic situation, ruled from Valuthavur. There have also been incidents where his troops went as far as the French-anointed anointing and tried to flag it off.

In September 1748, French forces captured Chennai. The Nawab of Arcot, Anwaruddin Khan, strongly opposed the move. In a letter to the Nizam of Alambara, the French Governor, Dupleix, stated that he would "leave Villian Nallur (Villianur) and Valuthavur in the Nawab's area of Arcot and leave Chennai."

Dupleix, who ruled Pondicherry, had an eye on nearby Valuthavur, which received more than one lakh leases a year from this jagir alone than any other jagir.

Dupleix, meanwhile, conquered Ginger in 1750. Salapat Sang, then Deccan Subedar, ceded a hundred villages, including Valuthavur, to the French. Dupleix's dream also came true.

The situation changed over the next 10 years. Tindivanam, an English force led by Colonel Ayarkoot, advanced towards Puducherry via Perumukkal.

By March 1760, Pondicherry was surrounded by clouds of war. The French government ordered that all high-ranking officials in Pondicherry, including merchants, must go to war. Opponents were brought on foot from Pondicherry to Vazhuthavur with their legs chained and locked up in the fort here.

Meanwhile, on 16 April 1760, the British force led by Iregaud captured the fort of Vazhuthavur. Those detained there were beaten and chased away. The fort was subsequently demolished and leveled. Those who know history will know that Pondicherry came under their control in the next few days.
